" नेपाल भन्ने शब्द एकल पहिचान हो कि बहु पहिचान?" नेपाल भन्ने शब्द ऐतिहासिक हो, कारण याहाँ हेर्नुहोसःhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nepal Ne Muni Local legends say that a Hindu sage named "Ne" established himself in the valley of Kathmandu in prehistoric times and that the word "Nepal" came into existence as the place protected ("pala" in pali) by the sage "Ne". According to the Skanda Purana, a rishi called "Ne" or "Nemuni" used to live in Himalaya. In the Pashupati Purana, he is mentioned as a saint and a protector. He is said to have practised meditation at the Bagmati and Kesavati rivers and to have taught there. Nepal Bhasa Origin The word "Nepal" is believed by most scholars to be derived from the word "Nepa:" which refers to the Newar Kingdom, the present day Kathmandu Valley. In early Sanskrit sources (Atharvaveda Parisista) and in Gupta period inscriptions, the country is referred to as Nepala. The Newars of present day Nepal, the inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley and its peripheries, were referred as "Nepa-mi" (citizens of Nepa) before the advent of Shah Dynasty. यो नेपाल शब्दको शुरुवात एकल पहिचान बाट बनेको एक थात-थलो हो। यहि ठाउँमा पछि आएर धेरै खालका जात-जातिहरुको बसोबास शुरु भएपछि बहु धर्म-सँस्किर्ति, भाषा-लिपि,भेशभुसाको जन्म भएको हो। त्येसै कारण थात थलोको नाम एकल पहिचान बाट शुरु भएपानि अहिले यो देश बहुपहिचान बोकेको देश हो। नेपालमा सँघिय राज्यको नाम बिबाद देख्दा अचम्म लागि राख्या छ। लिम्बुवान, खम्बवान, नेवा, तामसालिङ्ग,मगरात,तमुवान,खस,जडान,थारुवान,भोजपुरा,मिथिला नामाकरण गर्दा कसरि एकल पहिचान हुन्छ? यो पनि "नेपाल" शब्द जस्तै उत्पति भएको थात थलोको नाम हो। यि प्रत्येक राज्यहरुमा बहु पहिचान भएका जात-जातिहरुको बसोबास भएकोले, यो आँफैमा बहु पहिचान राज्यहरु हुन। त्येस कारण नेपालमा एकल पहिचान र बहुपहिचानको सवाल नै उठ्दैन।
